When designing this pool area, a sleek, modern look took centre stage. The paving had to tie in beautifully with the minimalist pool house, the natural swimming pond and the green garden.

In addition, the surface had to be comfortable to walk on, even barefoot, and withstand daily use in a damp environment.

An additional challenge was the finishing around the various elements. The paving had to connect seamlessly to the façade, the planting and the pool edges, without compromising the clean design.

The solution

For this project, Vuba powered by ECCO was selected: a permeable, resin-bound stone carpet that combines natural aggregates with a high-quality polyurethane resin.

The system creates a stable, seamless surface in which the stones are firmly bonded together. This results in an even and comfortable walking surface, without loose stones.

Thanks to its flexible application options, Vuba could be applied precisely around the pool, along the poolhouse, and right up to the planting areas. The light, natural shade provides a subtle contrast with the dark water surface and the warm timber cladding.

In addition, Vuba’s open structure allows rainwater to pass through, so with a suitable permeable sub-base it can be drained away naturally.
