"The solution had to fit the character of the castle garden. With ECCOgravel and CORE Edge, we achieved an elegant finish that looks natural and is practical to use at the same time.” - Océanne and Yoan, owners of Château de la Touche d’Amour

The challenge

Océanne and Yoan wanted to finish the castle garden in an elegant and sustainable way, without disturbing the natural character of the estate.

The gravel paths had to be comfortable to walk on, even with regular use by visitors and guests. Accessibility was essential in this regard. People in wheelchairs also had to be able to move smoothly along the gravel paths, without being hindered by loose or sinking gravel.

In addition, the transitions between gravel, lawn, planting and other garden areas had to be finished neatly and durably.

The solution

For the gravel zones, ECCOgravel was installed over an area of 1,100 m². The gravel grids stabilise the gravel and provide a solid, comfortable and water-permeable surface.

Compared to traditional loose gravel, ECCOgravel offers greater stability and ease of use. This makes the paths more pleasant for pedestrians and more accessible for wheelchair users.

For the finishing, 540 metres of CORE Edge in the colour corten steel was installed. This steel garden edging creates clear, clean lines between the different zones in the garden.
