ECCOdal grass pavers are frost-resistant down to -20°C, have a size of 80 × 80 cm so you lay them faster than the smaller pavers on the market, and are proven to تحمل up to 600 tonnes/m². TÜV-certified, Belgian-made, available in ECCOdal 40 (4 cm) and ECCOdal 50 (5 cm).
ECCOdal is the grass grid for a green, stable and permeable surface. It is made from 100% recycled material, carries the TÜV quality mark and comes in a convenient 80 x 80 cm format for quick installation.
-
Load-bearing up to 600 tonnes/m²
ECCOdal supports gross vehicle weights of up to 16 tonnes and axle loads of up to 10 tonnes (DIN 14090:2023-05), and depending on the infill can bear loads of up to 600 tonnes/m². This makes the grass reinforcement grid suitable for through truck traffic, fire access routes and heavily loaded driveways and car parks. TÜV-certified for proven quality and durability.
-
Belgian product, delivered quickly and easy to install
ECCO grass pavers are produced from A to Z in Belgium. This enables fast delivery and guarantees strict quality control. The 80 × 80 cm (0.64 m²) format is larger than most grass pavers on the market, meaning a car park or path can be laid more quickly. Yet the slabs are still light enough to be handled by one person.
-
Frost-resistant down to -20°C in 100% recycled material
The mix of recycled PE-PP remains flexible at low temperatures, down to -20°C. Grass pavers made from other materials can crack or deform in freezing weather: ECCOdal doesn’t. The expansion joints also absorb thermal stresses during high summer temperatures, keeping the structure stable all year round.

Technical specifications ECCOdal
ECCO grass grids are produced in Belgium and tested for compressive strength and durability. The compressive strength is certified by TÜV (DIN 14090:2023-05). The values in the table below serve as a reference; the actual load-bearing capacity depends on the type of infill and the quality of the sub-base.

ECCO parking discs
A grass parking area looks green and tidy, but without clear marking vehicles soon end up parking outside the bays. On grass pavers, traditional road marking isn’t an option. The ECCOdal marking studs are designed to delineate parking bays on ECCOdal grass pavers. Thanks to their vertical clamping ribs, the studs grip firmly in place, even under intensive use.

Frequently asked questions
-
Can gravel also be placed in ECCOdal grass grids?
In theory that’s possible, but it’s not recommended. Grass and gravel require opposite approaches:
- For grass you need a grass grid that allows roots to take hold easily. For gravel, you actually want to prevent weed growth, among other things by using a root barrier membrane.
- Grass grids have larger mesh openings to make sowing easier. Gravel mats have smaller mesh openings so the gravel stays in place better.
For gravel applications we recommend ECCOgravel gravel mats.
-
Am I allowed to drive over ECCOdal grass pavers?
Yes, provided there is a solid foundation.
ECCOdal grass grids are designed to reinforce green areas so that, if necessary, vehicles can drive over them without completely tearing up the grass. Typical applications are fire access roads, car parks and driveways to a carport where people park a trailer. With the right foundation, ECCOdal can also withstand occasional heavy traffic, and the foundation can be designed to handle the water runoff from the roadways as well.
What to avoid
In areas that are used very intensively or where speeds above 10 km/h are reached, we recommend constructing the trafficked areas in a bound material such as asphalt or concrete.
-
Is the ECCOdal suitable for wheelchair users?
Yes, the ECCOdal is perfectly suited for wheelchair users.
-
Up to and including which traffic class can the ECCOdal grass pavers be used?
The ECCOdal with a height of 4 cm is suitable for load class B (normal load, light traffic) and the ECCOdal with a height of 5 cm is suitable for load class A (intensive load).
-
What type of grass can I use for ECCOdal grass pavers?
We recommend grass seeds that take root deeply and are therefore more resistant to dry periods. Your grass seed supplier can provide you with more information about this.
