ECCOgravel and CORE Edge in a historic castle garden

Océanne and Yoan wanted to finish the castle garden in an elegant and sustainable way, without disrupting the natural character of the estate.

The gravel paths had to be comfortable to walk on, even with regular use by visitors and guests. Accessibility was essential in this regard. People in wheelchairs also needed to be able to move smoothly over the gravel paths, without being hindered by loose or sinking gravel.

In addition, the transitions between gravel, lawn, planting and other garden areas needed to be finished neatly and durably.

For the gravel areas, ECCOgravel was installed over an area of 1,100 m². The gravel grids stabilise the gravel and provide a firm, comfortable and permeable surface.

Compared with traditional loose gravel, ECCOgravel offers greater stability and ease of use. This makes the paths more pleasant for pedestrians and easier to use for wheelchair users.

For the finishing touch, 540 metres of CORE Edge in the colour corten steel was installed. This steel garden edging creates clear, clean lines between the different areas in the garden.

The result is a well-maintained castle garden with stable gravel areas, clean transitions and a natural look.

Thanks to ECCOgravel, the paths retain the charm of gravel while also offering greater comfort, stability and ease of use. The CORE Edge edging keeps the different zones neatly separated and provides a durable finish between gravel, lawn and planting.
